CS Surf Settings (CS:GO, Source & 1.6)
If you want to do a little surfing on your own, you will need to set a few settings, otherwise you will not be able to surf properly. These settings will work both for Counter-Strike Global Offensive and CS Source.
When you have downloaded a surf map, start the game and open the developer console. Once in the console, change the following settings.
CS:GO & CS:Source Surf settings
sv_accelerate 10
sv_airaccelerate 800
Default values
sv_accelerate 5.6
sv_airaccelerate 12
What really makes the difference, is the sv_airaccelerate. It’s pretty straightforward what it does, it makes you accelerate faster when in air (like surfing). Some people/servers has the sv_accelerate and sv_airaccelerate set to higher/lower values – like setting sv_airaccelerate to 1000 instead of 800.
You can also change the sv_airaccelerate based on what difficulty you would like.
Surf difficulties
Hard: sv_airaccelerate 100
Semi hard: sv_airaccelerate 150
Medium: sv_airaccelerate 200
Easy: sv_airaccelerate 400
Fun: sv_airaccelerate 800
Extra easy: sv_airaccelerate 1000
I would not recommend settings the sv_accelerate above 10, it will make your strafing to exaggerated.
If the server adds bot, and you want to remove them, use the command bot_kick in console.
CS 1.6 and Condition Zero
I’m not 100% sure about this, but I recall you have to set the following cvars:
sv_airaccelerate 300
sv_airmove 10
If you have anything to add, please write it in the comments below.
